| BALATONSZEMES , 5km further west from Balatonszárszó, has a special
feel, with pleasant plane-tree-lined avenues curling down to the
lakeside, and an old coaching inn converted into a Postal Museum (May-Sept
Tues-Sun 10am-6pm; 100Ft), which is primarily concerned with documenting
the history of postal transportation, as illustrated by the antique
stage coaches standing in the courtyard. Although they do not have an
information office here, Siótour runs the Lídó Fogadó (tel 84/360-112;
3000-5000Ft; mid-May to mid-Sept) and campsite (same months) at Ady
Endre utca 8, and the Vadvirág campsite, just off the main road at Arany
János utca 101 (tel 84/360-114; June to mid-Sept), which also has
chalets (5000-7000Ft). Another alternative is the Bagódomb site (tel
84/345-117; mid-June to Aug), uphill towards the ruined Bagolyvár Castle
